About Us – Te Ara Māori Limited

Te Ara Māori Limited is a Māori-owned, whānau-driven business dedicated to creating meaningful, culturally inspired products that connect our tamariki to their identity, language, and heritage.

Founded by Suzie Rika (Ngāpuhi) in Aotearoa, Te Ara Māori was born from a deeply personal journey. At just 19 years old, Suzie became a mother and was inspired to create something that would allow her son to grow surrounded by te ao Māori in a way that felt natural, accessible, and present in everyday life. What started as an idea during a transformative time quickly evolved into a purposeful business grounded in whakapapa, resilience, and aroha.

At Te Ara Māori, we design and develop high-quality kakahu and products that reflect the richness of Māori culture while meeting the needs of modern whānau. Each piece is thoughtfully created to represent connection to our tīpuna, to our stories, and to the pathways we continue to forge for future generations.

Our collections are more than just products; they are expressions of identity, learning, and belonging. From concept to creation, we aim to ensure our designs are durable, meaningful, and accessible, allowing our tamariki to wear their culture with pride.
